Playbook · Domain
Point your domain at Loopi without taking your site or email down.
NS delegation is all-or-nothing for the zone. Flip the nameservers before mirroring your existing records and you take down your live site and your Google Workspace inbox at the same time. The safe play is: scan first, mirror second, preview the new site, then flip.
The play
Four steps. Each one is safe to stop at. Nothing is public until you flip the nameservers in the final step.
Scan current DNS
Read every live record — MX, TXT, CNAME, A — before touching anything
Mirror records
Copy MX and verifications into Loopi so inbox and Google stay live
Preview on Loopi
See the new site on a Loopi preview URL — nothing public yet
Flip nameservers
Set NS at the registrar; Loopi becomes authoritative
Scanning comes first because you cannot mirror what hasn't been seen. Iris reads the live zone, lists every record, and flags the MX entries by name so you know exactly which mail provider — Google Workspace, Microsoft 365, Zoho — is routing that inbox. Mirroring those records into Loopi is what makes the flip safe. The preview is what makes the flip confident.
Preview before you flip
Before you change a single record at the registrar, Loopi serves the new brochure site on a private preview URL. Open it in your browser. Walk through every page, every section, every contact form. If something looks wrong, tell Iris and she'll fix it inside Loopi. Nothing is public while you do this.
Only after you approve the preview does Iris hand you the nameserver values to paste at the registrar. That sequencing is deliberate. The first time a visitor sees your new site is after you've already seen it.
The preview URL is stable — you can share it with your team, send it to a client, or bookmark it for a week. The nameserver flip is the only moment where the live domain switches over, and that moment is under your control.
What Loopi handles for you
- Scans the live zone and mirrors every record — MX, TXT (DKIM, DMARC, Google/Microsoft domain verifications), CNAME, A — so email and any third-party verifications survive the nameserver flip without manual copy-paste.
- Auto-writes the SES sending records after the flip — the DKIM keys and SPF entry that enable your Loopi mail domain appear automatically once Loopi is authoritative; you don't configure them by hand.
- Gives you a Cloudflare-locked fallback — if your registrar won't let you move apex nameservers (common on Cloudflare), Loopi falls back to subdomain delegation so your site still publishes on a subdomain while the rest of the zone stays where it is.
- Generates the preview URL — the new site is live on Loopi's infrastructure before the nameserver change, so you verify the output before any visitor sees it.

Exact NS values to paste at the registrar
Copy the prompt below and paste it to Iris in your Agents tab. Swap in your real domain and registrar name. She'll report every record scanned, confirm the mirror, send the preview link, and tell you exactly what to type at the registrar — and she'll wait for your approval before telling you to flip.
Open your Agents tab and hand this to Iris →
Next plays
Once the nameservers are live and Loopi is authoritative, two plays unlock immediately.
- Send email from your own domain — Loopi auto-wrote the SES records when it became authoritative; this playbook walks connecting your mail domain so broadcasts go out as
hello@acme.lawinstead of the default Loopi address. - Launch the site with a contact form — the brochure site you previewed is live; this playbook covers adding a native contact form block and wiring lead submissions to your mail list.
Flip your domain safely, tonight.
Open your Agents tab, paste the prompt above to Iris, and she scans the zone, mirrors the records, and returns a preview link — before you touch the registrar.
